We are recruiting for a PLC Controls Engineer. Please read on if you're considering your next challenge.

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a PLC Controls Engineer to join a well-established company specializing in the design and supply of customer standard process control systems to the FMCG industry.

Responsibilities
  • Complete project tasks (specifying, planning, testing and commissioning of control systems in conjunction with the customer, providing after‑sales service and customer training) within the quoted specification, timescale and cost targets.
  • Apply procedures, guidelines, forms and examples stipulated in the quality assurance system.
  • Inform the assigned project leader of any problems relating to the assigned tasks.
  • Maintain project files according to company quality procedures.
  • Procure help on technical and resource matters from the project leader.
  • Regularly assess outstanding work, provide updates to the project leader as required and ask for support in good time.
  • Hand over the project to the customer and provide after‑sales support.
  • Maintain, update and archive the project documentation.
  • Strive towards own project leadership responsibilities.
Qualifications
  • Technical/Vocational diploma or degree in electrical or automation engineering or equivalent.
  • Demonstrable experience working on turnkey automation and controls projects with time, cost and quality responsibilities.
  • Good knowledge of design and coding of PLC/SCADA control system software (preferably Rockwell and Siemens TIA).
  • Familiarity with the food processing industry is a strong advantage.
  • Strong communication skills and enjoyment of leading and working in a team.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the UK and worldwide (approximately 30‑40% annually).
