Senior Accountant

We are looking for a high performing senior accountant to join our growing firm at our Downtown Peterborough office. The successful candidate will be skilled in completing the tasks below. This exciting role comes with ample growth opportunity for the right candidate.

• Connect with clients daily. Gather information and answer any questions they may have
• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions
• Produce error‑free accounting reports and financial statements and present the results
• Ensure financial records are maintained in compliance with accepted policies and procedures
• Prepare corporate and personal tax returns and advise on tax planning opportunities
• Analyze complex financial reports and records
• Assist with financial and tax audits
• Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential
• Correspond with CRA and government agencies as required
• Collect and analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
• Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations and integrity of financial data
• Other projects as assigned

• An ideal candidate has between 3-5 years experience working with a public accounting firm.
• CPA student working towards their CPA designation considered an asset.

• Bachelor's Degree (Required).

This position offers a starting salary range of $65,000 - $80,000 per year. Compensation will be determined based on the successful candidate’s education, relevant experience, and skills.
