Occupational Health Safety Officer PRHC

Enhance workplace safety at Peterborough Regional Health Centre as an Occupational Health Safety Officer. This full-time role involves supporting compliance with Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act and leading safety initiatives.

In this temporary role until June 2028, you will report to the Manager of Occupational Health, Safety & Wellness r responsibilities include implementing health programs, conducting audits, and collaborating with various stakeholders to uphold safety standards. Your expertise will guide the organization in achieving compliance and ensuring optimal health and safety practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support adherence to Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act

• Conduct safety audits and inspections regularly

• Collaborate on health and safety program development

• Serve as an advisor to internal committees and stakeholders

• Maintain liaison with the Ministry of Labour for compliance

Requirements:

• Degree in Occupational Health and Safety or equivalent

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in safety roles

• Knowledge of relevant legislation and safety systems

• Excellent communication and organizational skills

• Certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional is an asset
