Take on the role of Human Rights Advisor at Trent University, where you will be integral in maintaining compliance and supporting diversity initiatives on campus. Drive impactful change through education and advocacy.
This position requires a proactive approach to advising university administration in relation to the Ontario Human Rights Code and related accessibility laws. You will coordinate complaint processes, provide expert training, and lead projects aimed at enhancing the university's adherence to human rights legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee AODA-compliant feedback and complaint mechanisms
• Address and mediate OHRC Discrimination complaints
• Develop impactful resources for educational outreach
• Conduct assessments of current policies for inclusivity
• Collaborate with internal and external parties on compliance projects
Requirements:
• Honours University Degree required in Human Rights, Law, etc.
• Five years' experience in relevant human rights work
• Proven interpersonal and mediation skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of anti-discrimination laws
• Proficient with various data management tools
