Position: Full-Time Low Vision Specialist
Become a Low Vision Specialist with VLRC in Peterborough, ON, and leverage your expertise in functional vision assessments. This full-time role focuses on enhancing the lives of individuals with vision impairments.
The VLRC is seeking a dedicated Low Vision Specialist to join their healthcare team. You'll conduct comprehensive assessments, educate clients on visual aids, and refer them to external services as needed.

Your role will involve community outreach, administrative tasks, and collaboration with various stakeholders to promote vision health and support clients effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform functional low vision assessments

• Educate clients on low vision devices

• Facilitate community workshops on vision health

• Liaise with health professionals and community agencies

• Document assessments and client interactions
Requirements:

• Graduate in healthcare or vision-related field

• Knowledge of ocular anatomy and low vision rehabilitation

• Strong decision-making and judgement skills

• Excellent verbal and written communication

• Willingness to travel and work flexible hours
