Registered Nurse; RN), Oncology

Position: Registered Nurse (RN), Oncology Department (Permanent, Part‑time, Union: ONA 003)

Location: Peterborough, ON

Salary: per hour

• Provide comprehensive coordinated care to oncology patients, promoting health, preventing illness, and helping clients achieve the highest level of health.
• Practice in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario Professional Practice Standards and the Canadian Association of Nurses in Oncology (CANO) competencies.
• Deliver safe, effective practice and maintain a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to patient care.

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario in good standing.
• Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
• Completion of a foundational oncology course (e.g., de Souza Foundations in Oncology Nursing Practice).
• Certificate in Chemotherapy & Biotherapy administration from de Souza (or willingness to complete within 6 months).
• Completion of Chemotherapy Competency Maintenance Course every 12–18 months.
• Experience with CVAD and IV therapy.
• BScN/BN preferred; one year recent oncology/palliative care experience preferred.
• One year recent chemotherapy administration experience preferred.

• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to act as a member of a multidisciplinary team, communicating all relevant clinical data.
• Ability to set goals in work, prioritize competing demands, and maintain high standards of quality practice.
• Proactive in reviewing and applying advances in oncology practice.
• Team‑player functioning with all clinic staff.
• Computer skills considered an asset.
