The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

The Registered Nurse (RN), in the Out-Patient Endoscopy unit has a unique role in promoting health, in preventing illness, and in assisting clients and families attain and maintains the highest level of health possible. S/he is responsible for providing comprehensive care to patients, with predictable and unpredictable outcomes who may or may not be clinically stable. The RN practices in accordance with the College of Nurses of Ontario Professional Standards.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

Current Certificate of Competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario.

Recent Endoscopy unit experience required i.e. ERCP, Bronchoscopy, OG, and Colonoscopy Previous acute surgical experience including pre and post-operative assessments and recovery required

Current BLSCertification in IV therapy.

WHO YOU ARE:

Working knowledge of Standards related to Endoscopy Nursing Demonstrated knowledge related to aseptic technique

Demonstrated knowledge related to the handling of biopsy specimens

Excellent verbal communication and electronic documentation skills

Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a team member

Demonstrates professionalism

Good organizational skills essential for enabling and supporting efficiency in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multitask and prioritise

Ability to act in the Charge Nurse role Ability to assess and adjust staffing to meet the operational demands of the unit Ability to delegate and negotiate with interdisciplinary care team Ability to analyses current processes and identifies opportunities for improvement
