The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Reporting to the Director, Finance, this role provides strategic leadership and execution over the organization’s payroll function, ensuring the delivery of accurate, compliant and efficient payroll operations. This role is accountable for payroll governance, regulatory and legislation compliance, financial reporting and the integrity of payroll data within financial statements, including month- end accruals, reconciliations and forecasting for the health centre.

This role is responsible for leading, training and supervising the payroll team, by managing their workflow and conducting annual performance assessments.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

Undergraduate degree in Finance or equivalent

Five to ten years of previous finance and/or accounting leadership experience

Payroll Compliance Professional (PCP) or equivalent work experience

Extensive knowledge of accounting, payroll and benefit principles and practices, in a hospital setting

Thorough understanding of auditing and internal control best practices

Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), preferred

Experience in a hospital setting or similar health care organization, preferred

Knowledge and experience with Ontario Health Care Reporting (OHRS), preferred WHO YOU ARE:

Ability to engage stakeholders, understand business objectives/requirements, develop performance measures and design reports and analytical tools tailored towards stakeholder and organizational needs to establish trends and help draw valid conclusions.

Ability to stay knowledgeable about, research and reach well-reasoned conclusions on funding methodologies and technical accounting issues.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism.

Excellent working knowledge of financial systems, as well as proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint).

Experience with Infinium and Meditech would be an asset.
