Group Home Residential Counsellor

Provide residential support for boys and girls needing care and structured living in a group home setting. This position requires travel and onsite work.

As a Residential Counsellor, you will support clients experiencing difficulties with life  will help protect children, promote their best interests, and contribute to their safety, health, and well-being. The position reports to the Direct Services Supervisor and provides on-the-job training for new skills. Experience in social services or child welfare is an asset, not a requirement.

• Support clients experiencing difficulties with life at home
• Provide care within a residential group home setting
• Promote the best interests of each child
• Provide for children’s protection and safety
• Support children’s health and well-being

• Experience raising a family or working with children
• Community life experience in small remote communities
• Basic verbal and written communication skills
• Computer experience is an asset, not required
• Ability to speak Oji-cree or Ojibway is an asset
