Resident Companion; Per Diem

We are currently seeking a compassionate and reliable individual to join our Health Center team as a Resident Companion
. As a Resident Companion, you will play a vital role in supporting our residents by providing assistance and companionship. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a difference in someone’s day while working in a supportive and caring environment.

River Mead offers a $1.50 per-hour weekend differential that runs from Friday at 5:00 PM to Sunday at midnight.

Resident Companions provide one-on-one support and companionship to Health Center residents during transportation to and from off-site appointments.

• Accompany residents to appointments using River Mead’s transportation or other transportation arranged by the resident or family.
• Offer assistance with outerwear, such as coats and hats, before and after appointments.
• Ensure resident comfort and safety throughout the duration of the trip.
• Communicate respectfully and clearly with residents, families, and healthcare providers.

This is a per diem position. Shifts will be scheduled in advance but may occur at varying times during the week depending on appointment needs.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum six (6) months of experience working with, or around, the elderly population.
• CPR certification required (Certification can be obtained after employment begins).
• Takes oral and written instruction well.
• Demonstrated knowledge of appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the geriatric population.
• Ability to remain calm in all types of situations, including emergencies.
