The Director of Information Technology provides strategic and operational leadership for all IT functions within the NHBB business unit of Minebea Mitsumi. This role ensures reliable, secure, and scalable systems across multiple sites, including ERP, network infrastructure, cybersecurity, and end-user support. The Director oversees capital and budgetary adherence for IT systems, infrastructure, communications and operations, leads a distributed team of IT professionals and help desk staff, manages technology vendors, and collaborates with global IT leadership to align NHBB IT strategy with enterprise goals.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and execute divisional and business unit IT strategy in alignment with global corporate objectives.
  • Serve as the primary IT leader for the business unit, representing IT in executive and operational meetings.
  • Identify and implement technology solutions that enhance productivity, data integrity, and collaboration. Drive innovation through continuous evaluation of emerging technologies relevant to the business.
Infrastructure & Systems Management
  • Oversee all IT infrastructure - including networks, servers, storage, telecommunications, and cloud systems - ensuring uptime, scalability, and security.
  • Manage and maintain the business unit's ERP system, ensuring functionality supports business operations and reporting needs. Ensure effective integration between ERP and other enterprise systems.
  • Oversee hardware and software lifecycle management, licensing, upgrades and capital expenditures.
Service Delivery & Support
  • Lead the business unit's internal help desk and technical support teams, ensuring timely, professional, and effective customer service.
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and service-level agreements (SLAs) for IT support.
  • Implement ITIL or similar frameworks to standardize support and service delivery processes across sites.
Cybersecurity & Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with corporate cybersecurity policies and external regulatory requirements by working in tandem with the Head of Cyber Security.
  • Implement security controls, disaster recovery, and backup protocols across all sites.
  • Partner with the global security team to manage security audits, risk assessments, and incident response.
Project & Vendor Management
  • Oversee IT projects from planning through implementation, including system upgrades, integrations, and process improvements.
  • Manage technology vendors and service providers to ensure performance, compliance, and value.
  • Develop and manage the business unit IT budget, ensuring cost efficiency and adherence to corporate standards.
People Leadership
  • Lead, mentor, and develop IT staff across multiple sites and functions. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the IT organization.
  • Partner with Human Resources and site leaders to assess resource needs and succession planning for key Information Technology roles.
Job Skills & Abilities
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, cloud environments, and cybersecurity frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, team building and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker with hands‑on problem‑solving capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to align IT initiatives with business objectives and deliver measurable outcomes.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field required.
  • Master's degree (MBA or MIS) preferred.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CISSP, or CISM) are strongly preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience managing IT operations across multiple sites or countries.
  • Proven success implementing and maintaining ERP systems (e.g., Infor, SAP).
  • Demonstrated experience managing systems development, IT infrastructure, help desk operations, and cybersecurity initiatives.
  • Strong record of team leadership, vendor management, and strategic alignment.
Physical Requirements
  • Be able to travel domestically and internationally as needed ~20%
  • Ability to access and utilize all information systems for Minebea Mitsumi
  • Long periods of sitting or standing may be required
