Job Overview:
Pediatric Office Nurse
The Pediatric Office Nurse, whether a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), plays a crucial role in providing care for children. This position involves working independently while following established medical guidelines and hospital policies. The nurse uses a systematic approach to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the care they provide. They also guide other healthcare staff, such as LPNs and Medical Assistants, in carrying out their tasks to support the overall treatment plan for patients.
Key Responsibilities- Patient Care: Directly care for patients by assessing their needs, planning treatments, implementing nursing actions, and evaluating outcomes to ensure the best possible results.
- Team
Collaboration:
Work together with doctors, fellow nurses, and other healthcare professionals to create and follow personalized care plans for each patient. - Documentation: Keep detailed and accurate records of patients’ health, treatments, and progress. Notify the relevant team members about any changes in patients’ conditions.
- Medication Administration: Give medications and treatments as prescribed while following hospital rules to ensure safety.
- Patient
Education:
Teach patients and their families about managing health conditions, understanding treatment options, and taking preventive measures to maintain their overall health. - Support and Advocacy: Provide emotional support to patients and advocate for their rights to ensure they receive compassionate and respectful care.
- Policy Compliance: Adhere to hospital policies and regulations to maintain a safe and ethical environment for both patients and staff.
- Ongoing Learning: Stay informed about the latest medical practices and developments through continuous professional growth.
- Perform other tasks as needed.
- Confidentiality: Maintain privacy regarding patient information.
- Knowledge: Strong understanding of medical terms, procedures, and equipment.
- Experience: Candidates should have prior nursing experience; new graduates are not being considered at this time.
- Licensing: Must hold a valid RN or LPN license issued by the New Hampshire Board of Nursing.
- Must have certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Must have an active New Hampshire nursing license or a compact nursing license at the time of application.
