Accounts Assistant

Interaction Recruitment is working on behalf of our client to recruit a Part-Time Accounts Assistant to join their busy finance team. This is a permanent role, ideal for someone with purchase ledger or accounts experience who enjoys working in a supportive, structured environment.

• £28,000 pro rata (£13.50ph)
• 18 hours per week (additional overtime of up to 6 hours may be required around month-end)
• Flexible working pattern to be agreed

• Receiving, scanning, coding (including VAT), and accurately posting purchase invoices
• Creating and maintaining supplier accounts, handling queries and disputes
• Preparing BACS and cheque payments, supporting payment runs
• Matching invoices to purchase orders and delivery notes, reconciling supplier statements
• Investigating and resolving invoice discrepancies or payment issues
• Processing staff expense claims and petty cash
• Assisting with month-end/year-end reports, audits, and providing general finance team support

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills
• Effective verbal and written communication
• Proactive problem-solving abilities
• Experience using SAP or similar accounting software
• Previous experience in an accounts assistant / purchase ledger role preferred
