Audit and Accounts Senior
Peterborough
£38,000 - £46,000

A forward-thinking, top 40 accountancy practice is seeking an Audit & Accounts Senior to join its Peterborough office. The firm offers a collaborative, people-focused culture while working with a diverse client base including owner-managed businesses, charities, and established corporates. This role provides excellent exposure across audit, accounts, and tax, making it ideal for someone looking to broaden their technical skillset and progress their career in a supportive and progressive environment.

Role

Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, charities, and limited companies.
  • Assist with audit assignments, working closely with managers and partners.
  • Prepare independent examinations for charity clients.
  • Support in the preparation of cash flow statements.
  • Liaise with clients to resolve queries and provide a high level of service.
  • Ensure assignments are completed within budget and deadlines.
  • Produce draft tax computations and assist with tax return schedules.
  • Prepare year-end accounts in line with relevant accounting standards.
  • Review work completed by junior team members.
  • Support and mentor junior staff development.
  • Complete VAT returns.
Personal Requirements
  • ACA/ACCA qualified or part-qualified.
  • Proven experience within a general practice environment.
  • Strong IT skills, ideally including CCH, SAPA, Case Ware, and Alphatax.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical ability.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Team player with a proactive and organised approach.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites where required.
