A growing accountancy practice is seeking an ambitious Accounts Junior to join its team, with full study support provided towards AAT, ATT or ACCA. The firm works with a varied client base including property investors, landlords, developers, business owners and high net worth individuals, with tax advice at the heart of its offering. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who wants to develop beyond basic compliance, gain exposure to tax and advisory work, and progress into a specialist tax role as their studies develop.

• Handling client queries by phone and email, escalating where appropriate.
• Bookkeeping across a portfolio of clients, primarily using Xero.
• Preparing and drafting year-end accounts for limited companies, sole traders and partnerships.
• Preparing draft self-assessment tax returns.
• Chasing and reviewing client records to ensure information is complete and accurate.
• Preparing information packs and workings for the tax and advisory team.
• Assisting with VAT returns and payroll where required.
• Maintaining accurate client records, systems and deadlines.
• Supporting the wider team with additional work as the practice continues to grow.

• Driven and ambitious, with a genuine interest in developing a career in tax.
• Confident communicating with clients both over the phone and in writing.
• Accurate and organised, with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable working to deadlines and managing your own workload.
• Good numerical ability and confidence picking up new software.
• Willing to ask questions and learn when faced with something unfamiliar.
• Accountancy practice experience would be useful.
• AAT study or qualification, or progress towards ATT or ACCA, would be advantageous.
• Xero experience and/or exposure to property clients would be beneficial.
