Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant Part-Time Peterborough Up to £30,000 FTE

A small, established independent accountancy practice is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper / Accounts Assistant to join its friendly and supportive team on a part-time basis. Working within a close-knit team, youll support a varied portfolio of owner-managed businesses, sole traders, partnerships and limited companies, carrying out a broad range of bookkeeping, VAT and payroll duties while providing first-class client support.

Role Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain bookkeeping records for a varied portfolio of clients.
• Complete and submit VAT returns in line with Making Tax Digital (MTD) requirements.
• Process weekly and monthly payrolls, including pension administration where required.
• Carry out bank reconciliations and maintain accurate financial records.
• Process purchase and sales ledger transactions.
• Assist with credit control and client account queries.
• Provide day-to-day support and guidance to clients on bookkeeping and accounting software.
• Liaise with HMRC regarding client matters when required.
• Support the wider team with general accounting and administrative duties.
• Work with cloud accounting software including Xero and Quick Books, Sage.
