Audit and Accounts Senior - Top 40 Practice Peterborough (Hybrid) £40,000 - £48,000 A Top 40 Accounting Firm is seeking an experienced Audit & Accounts Senior to join its Peterborough team. You will manage a varied portfolio of external clients, prepare accounts and tax work, support audit assignments and review junior colleagues' work, while working closely with managers, partners and clients.

The role offers a supportive environment with opportunities to develop your technical and client-facing skills. Role Responsibilities Prepare financial statements for sole traders, partnerships, charities and limited companies. Prepare independent examinations for charity clients for Partner sign-off. Assist managers with client audit assignments. Prepare cash flow statements and supporting schedules. Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and obtain information.

Complete assignments accurately, within budget and to agreed deadlines. Prepare draft tax computations and schedules for tax returns. Prepare year-end accounts in accordance with relevant accounting standards. Review work completed by junior members of the team. Support the development and training of junior staff. Complete VAT returns. Personal Requirements Current or recent experience working within a UK accountancy practice is essential.

ACA, ACCA or ACA CTA qualified, or actively working towards a relevant qualification. Proven experience preparing accounts for a varied portfolio of external clients. Experience across accounts and audit within a practice environment. Strong knowledge of accounting standards and UK practice procedures. Good IT skills and familiarity with accounts and/or audit software. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Able to manage your own workload and work effectively to deadlines and budgets. Confident communicating with clients and resolving queries. Comfortable reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues. Willingness to travel to clients and other offices when required. Highly organised, proactive and committed to delivering high-quality work. Full, unrestricted right to work in the UK. Sponsorship is not available.
