The role is that of a receptionist working within a busy GP surgery. The practice offer in house training to develop those with less experience of working within a primary care setting. The working hours will be 17.5 hours per week:
Monday 8.00am-12noon
Tuesday 8.00am-12.30pm
Friday 2.00pm - 6.30pm
Main duties of the jobOur first priority is to look after our patients, by assisting them at the reception desk and on the telephone. Other administrative duties are also included in the role
About usThe Old Fletton Surgery is a busy practice with 8 GPs, 5 nurses, 2 HCA's and a team of administrative staff. We are a friendly supportive practice, who is looking for the right person to work with us.
Job responsibilitiesGreet patients and visitors to the practice.
Book in patients and visitors in line with practice appointments and visitors procedures.
Respond and/or redirectall patient and visitor requests accordingly.
Ensure computerisedappointment system is up-to-date.
Booking, amending andcancelling patient appointments.
Completing E-litequestionnaire for patients over the telephone
Distribution of completed prescriptions/medications
Answering incomingtelephone calls, ensuring calls are documented and redirected accordingly.
Ensure up-to-datemaintenance of both computerised and manual filing systems (i.e. patientnotes).
Obtaining medical records from the records roomas and when requested
Chaperoning when requested to do so
Stocking up of consulting rooms
Scanning lettersreceived into patients computerized medical records
Photocopying
Loading/emptying thedishwasher

Work safely at alltimes in accordance with Legislative requirements and Practice Policy and Procedures
Person Specification Qualifications- Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential for this post
- Basic IT skills
