Managing the delivery and performance of planned maintenance, refurbishment, and capital works contracts Overseeing contractors to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards Managing contract performance, costs, programmes, variations, and commercial outcomes Building and maintaining strong relationships with contractors, consultants, residents, internal teams, and external stakeholders Monitoring project progress through regular meetings, site visits, inspections, and performance reviews Ensuring contracts comply with relevant legislation, health & safety requirements, building regulations, and organisational policies Reviewing specifications, programmes, valuations, variations, and contractor performance Producing accurate reports and management information to support effective governance and decision-making Identifying risks and opportunities and implementing appropriate actions to ensure successful contract delivery Driving continuous improvement and ensuring residents receive a high-quality service throughout the delivery of works The successful Contracts Manager will have:
Previous experience working in a Contracts Manager, Contract Manager, or senior project management position Experience managing planned maintenance, refurbishment, capital works, or similar construction programmes Strong knowledge of contract management, construction, procurement, and commercial processes Experience managing contractors and monitoring contract performance Strong understanding of health & safety, building regulations, and relevant housing legislation Excellent financial management and reporting skills Strong communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management abilities Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Experience working within social housing or a similar public-sector environment would be highly advantageous A relevant construction, surveying, property, or project management qualification would be desirable If you're an experienced Contracts Manager looking to join a respected social housing group in Peterborough, with a salary of £64,000 - £67,000 and the opportunity to lead important housing investment and maintenance programmes, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
