Tango Group has an exciting opportunity for a graduate-level Knitwear Product Developer to join the inspiring team in Peterborough.
Combining commercial awareness with creativity, the successful applicant will design across various product areas and input into the overall range plans.
- Assist and support the Design Department in developing and designing an original and innovative range in line with the customer's handwriting.
- Range building with the account managers. Designing a coherent and commercial range, producing design briefs for factories, and liaising with suppliers.
- Support & work on seasonal themes and trends from concept stage to final presentation. Assist with compiling mood boards & colour palettes.
- Source new ideas from inspirational trips within the UK, trade fairs, trend publications and the web. Compile reports and feedback to the design team.
- Being able to identify and interpret key catwalk trends for our customers.
- Produce concise and directional product direction boards, which identify key colours, key shapes/items, key techniques, key details and key fabrications for the season.
- Collate & manage critical path, measure own hit rate and plan time effectively to meet sign-offs / product reviews of our customers. Drive right-first-time sampling within the product category.
- Support with fast fashion deadlines & offer solutions to improve the process.
- Overseas travel may be required.
- Ability to work across multiple product areas if requested to support other areas.
- Used to working on own initiative.
- CAD skills, using either Photoshop or Illustrator.
- Able to sketch.
- Able to demonstrate your design flair and an understanding of the knitwear ‘handwriting’.
- Passionate about design and fashion.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
