About the Role As a Plumbing Technician, you will play a key part in delivering high-quality training and practical support to learners at all levels. Youll work closely with lecturing staff, guiding students through their practical activities, developing their confidence, and ensuring a safe, well-organised workshop environment. This role is ideal for those with a level 3 in plumbing, who enjoys sharing knowledge even if you havent taught before.
Full training and development (including teaching and Health & Safety qualifications) is available for the right candidate. What Youll Be Doing as a Plumbing Technician
- Providing practical training, coaching and underpinning knowledge to learners on plumbing programmes. Assessing student competence and supporting progress through tutorials, workshops and practical observations. Supervising students in the workshop, ensuring safe and effective learning at all times. Maintaining tools, equipment and stock levels, organising stores, and undertaking minor repairs where needed. Supporting the delivery of accredited programmes and assisting lecturing staff during practical sessions.
Keeping workshop spaces clean, safe and well organised, and completing relevant administration. Participating in risk assessments, ensuring compliance with Health & Safety (including COSHH). Supporting learners and colleagues with specialist equipment and First Aid (training provided). Contributing positively to team culture, planning processes, and college events such as open evenings.
What Were Looking For Level 2 qualification in a relevant plumbing discipline GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above) or equivalent Experience working in the plumbing industry Strong communication skills and confidence supporting young people Excellent organisation, record-keeping and problem-solving skills Commitment to safeguarding, equality and inclusive learning Ability to work flexibly, independently and as part of a team Good IT skills (Word, Excel, Outlook) If you dont yet have teaching, First Aid or Health & Safety qualifications dont worry.
