We are seeking enthusiastic, adaptable and committed Teaching Assistants to work across a range of primary, secondary and SEN (Special Educational Needs) schools in the Peterborough area. This role offers flexibility, allowing candidates to work in the settings they feel most comfortable in. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who are passionate about supporting children and young people in their education and development.
Key Responsibilities- Support teachers in delivering lessons and classroom activities
- Work with individuals or small groups of pupils to support learning
- Assist in managing classroom behaviour in line with school policies
- Provide additional support to pupils with SEN where required
- Help create a positive, inclusive and engaging learning environment
- Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
- Adapt to different school settings and age groups
- Hold a relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, childcare or related field)
- Have previous experience working in a school or educational setting
- Have experience supporting children or young people with SEN
- Have a background in childcare, youth work, coaching or mentoring
- Are graduates looking to gain experience in education
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- A patient, supportive and nurturing approach
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Flexibility to work across different schools and key stages
- A proactive and positive attitude
- Good organisational skills
- An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service is highly desirable (or willingness to obtain one)
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
