Contract & Salary

Fixed term, 7‑month, part‑time position. Starting September 2026 until the end of March 2027. Salary: £46,049–£56,535 p.a. pro rata.

About the Role

Senior Lecturer Practitioner – Initial Teacher Training (fixed term, maternity cover). The role is within the School of Education, Faculty of Arts, Humanities, Education and Social Sciences. The position focuses on the new BEd (Hons) Primary Education with QTS course.

Responsibilities
  • Teach the BEd (Hons) Primary Education with QTS course on the Peterborough campus.
  • Upskill as a Lead Mentor under the new ITT requirements and support school‑based training for trainees.
  • Maintain and apply current practice in primary schools to inform course and module development.
  • Train the next generation of teachers in the Eastern region.
Qualifications
  • Experienced school‑based practitioner with current experience in primary schools.
  • Passion for training the next generation of teachers.
  • Commitment to maintaining personal currency of practice.
