Peterborough College is looking for an enthusiastic and inspiring Lecturer in ESOL to join our dedicated team. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference to learners from diverse backgrounds, supporting them to achieve their goals through high-quality English language teaching.

Whether teaching in the classroom, online or within community settings, you'll play a vital role in creating engaging and inclusive learning experiences that help students thrive.

What you'll be doing as an ESOL Lecturer:
  • Delivering high-quality ESOL teaching and learning programmes that meet the needs of a diverse range of learners.
  • Planning and delivering engaging lessons that inspire students and support excellent achievement and progression.
  • Assessing learner work, providing constructive feedback and monitoring progress against individual targets.
  • Creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment that encourages participation, confidence and success.
  • Developing schemes of work, lesson resources and learning materials that enhance the learner experience.
  • Delivering tutorials and guidance sessions to help students achieve their personal, academic and career goals.
  • Supporting learners with progression opportunities, including further study, employment and work experience.
  • Contributing to course development, quality improvement activities and curriculum planning.
  • Participating in student recruitment activities, open events and enrolment processes.
  • Embedding English, maths and digital skills into teaching and learning activities.
What we're looking for:
  • A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or Diploma in Education and Training.
  • Relevant ESOL qualifications and substantial recent experience within the ESOL sector.
  • Excellent knowledge of ESOL teaching and learning practices.
  • The ability to inspire, motivate and engage learners from a wide range of backgrounds and abilities.
  • Strong communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience of using digital technology to enhance teaching and learning.
  • A commitment to delivering outstanding learner outcomes and supporting student success.
