English Teacher

About the role:

Justteachers are recruiting for a Teacher of English, who is looking for a long term role, in a Secondary school in Peterborough on a full time basis. The role is set to commence in May 2026, with shortlisting currently underway.

This is a vibrant secondary setting that values strong relationships, positive behaviour and engaging classroom practice. The school supports creativity in teaching while maintaining a clear focus on progress and attainment.

• Plan and deliver engaging English lessons aligned with the National Curriculum at KS3 and KS4
• Teach reading, writing, speaking and listening skills to a range of abilities
• Prepare pupils for GCSE English Language and Literature examinations
• Assess, track and report on pupil progress in line with school policy
• Provide constructive feedback to support progress and attainment
• Promote a love of literature, language and effective communication
• Manage classroom behaviour in line with the school behaviour policy
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of SEND, EAL and higher attaining pupils
• Contribute to departmental planning, resources and moderation

• Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent
• Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 in UK schools
• Knowledge of GCSE English specifications
• Strong classroom and behaviour management skills
