Position: Pastoral Year Lead

£31,102 – £34,387 (Term Time Salary) | FTE £35,412 – £39,152

We are working on behalf of a forward-thinking and supportive secondary school to recruit a Pastoral Year Lead who will play a key role in shaping students’ daily experiences and long-term success.

As a Pastoral Year Lead
, you will be at the heart of student life, leading the pastoral care for a designated year group. You will create a positive, inclusive, and structured environment where students can flourish.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on behaviour, attendance, wellbeing, and personal development
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students and families
  • Act as a visible and approachable presence throughout the school day
  • Identify trends and implement timely interventions to support student success
  • Work closely with teaching staff, senior leaders, and external agencies
Qualifications
  • Experience in pastoral care, student support, or a similar role
  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and student wellbeing
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and relationship-building skills
  • A calm, proactive, and solution-focused approach
  • A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers and succeed
Working Hours
  • 37 hours per week
    , term time + 2 weeks (40 weeks total)
  • Monday–Thursday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
  • Friday: 8:00am – 3:30pm
