About the role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated SEND Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive educational setting in Peterborough. This role involves teaching pupils with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities, delivering personalised learning that supports academic progress, emotional development, and independence.
The school offers a structured, nurturing environment where teaching is adapted to meet individual needs through small group work, clear routines, and engaging learning approaches. Key Responsibilities:- Plan, deliver, and adapt high-quality, differentiated lessons to meet the needs of pupils with a range of SEND.
- Assess pupil progress and use this information to inform planning, ensuring learning is accessible, motivating, and appropriately challenging.
- Create a positive, structured classroom environment that supports emotional regulation, engagement, and positive behaviour for learning.
- Work collaboratively with SEND support staff, therapists, and other professionals to implement personalised strategies and education plans (EHCPs).
- Support pupils’ development of communication, social skills, independence, and confidence, alongside academic learning.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to reviews, meetings, and ongoing provision planning.
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching pupils with special educational needs, either within a SEND school or inclusive mainstream setting.
- Strong understanding of SEND and the ability to adapt teaching approaches to suit varying needs and abilities.
- Confidence in managing behaviour positively and supporting pupils with additional emotional or communication needs.
- A caring, patient, and flexible approach with a genuine commitment to inclusive education.
