Position: HLTA (Inclusion & SEND)

Job Title

Part‑Time Higher Level Teaching Assistant (Inclusion and SEND) – Holme CofE Primary School and Stilton Primary School

Salary and Working Hours

Payscale:
Point 12 (U.K. National Point Pay Scale) – Full‑time equivalent £28,598 per year, approximately £18,511 pro‑rata. Working 28 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, commencing September 2026. 2 days per week at Holme and 2 days per week at Stilton.

About the Role

Join a vibrant team of enthusiastic, hardworking and supportive staff, supporting pupils with SEND, SEMH needs or additional support required to access learning. The role requires delivering high‑quality inclusive provision, leading targeted interventions, supporting classroom teaching including PPA cover, and ensuring all pupils can engage, progress and achieve their full potential.

Responsibilities
  • Support teaching and learning across both schools
  • Deliver targeted SEND and inclusion interventions
  • Support pupils’ engagement, behaviour and wellbeing
  • Provide short‑term class cover (including PPA and ad‑hoc cover)
  • Support pupils to develop social skills, confidence and independence
  • Implement behaviour strategies and contribute to a consistent, inclusive approach
  • Work closely with the SENCo, staff and external professionals where required
  • Maintain accurate records of interventions and pupil progress
  • Support reintegration following absence or periods of dysregulation
Qualifications & Experience
  • Experience working across the primary phase
  • Experience in a teaching assistant or HLTA role, including class cover
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEND and delivering targeted interventions
  • Experience working within the SEND/Inclusion team, including supporting Early Help Assessments and statutory processes
  • Strong understanding of inclusive practice and supporting vulnerable learners
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
  • Enthusiastic, ambitious and dedicated to improving outcomes for all pupils
  • Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities effectively
  • Collaborative and effective communicator with colleagues, parents and pupils
  • Proactive can‑do attitude and initiative
  • Flexibility to work across two school settings
