Are you a patient, compassionate and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant who wants to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people with additional needs?

Aspire People are looking to recruit dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support a welcoming specialist education setting in Peterborough, catering for pupils aged 4-19 with severe and complex learning needs, including autism.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Support pupils with severe learning difficulties, autism and complex additional needs.
• Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging, differentiated and multisensory learning activities.
• Provide individual and small-group support, adapting your approach to each pupil.
• Support pupils with communication, emotional regulation and positive behaviour strategies.
• Encourage independence, confidence, social development and essential life skills.
• Assist with personal care and physical needs where required.
• Help create a safe, positive and inclusive learning environment.
• Build trusting, professional relationships with pupils and staff.

We would love to hear from candidates who:

• Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND, ideally within a specialist school or similar setting.
• Understand the needs of pupils with autism, severe learning difficulties or complex communication needs.
• Are calm, patient, resilient and able to respond positively to behaviours that challenge.
• Are flexible, reliable and confident working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Have excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
• Are willing to support personal care needs where required.

Experience using communication aids, sensory approaches, Makaton, PECS or positive behaviour support strategies would be advantageous.
