What you will be doingYou will create value‑driven civil designs for Water Non‑Infrastructure projects within potable water assets, water treatment works or storage sites. You will work under the direction of the Project Technical Manager and with multi‑disciplinary teams to deliver on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities- Produce civil designs, calculations and specifications for water‑sector assets, including ductile iron, steelwork and plastic pipes.
- Collaborate with design teams and stakeholders (Operations, contractors, suppliers) to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Drive health and safety excellence in design, eliminating hazards and mitigating risks in compliance with Alliance CDM procedures.
- Progress projects from feasibility through detailed design to construction.
- Undertake site visits for feasibility studies, reports and survey data collection.
- Support the update and expansion of Standard Products used in design solutions.
- Identify and promote opportunities to meet digital, sustainability, innovation and people objectives.
- BEng or MEng/MSc in Civil or Structural Engineering, ideally working towards Chartered Engineer status.
- Strong knowledge of structural calculations for concrete structures and relevant civil engineering design within the water industry.
- Experience with engineering design software packages and proficiency in British Standards and Eurocodes.
- Ability to interpret ground investigation reports to design appropriate solutions.
- Effective communication, reporting, and data analysis skills.
- Collaborative mindset and ability to exceed stakeholder expectations.
