Position: Hydraulic Modeller (Flood Risk Management)

Are you ready to shape the future of water infrastructure while advancing your career? Due to significant growth across our Water Catchment Management business, we’re looking for talented Hydraulic Water Modellers for our UK‑based teams. You will support major frameworks with leading water companies and help deliver some of the largest Flood Risk Management programmes ever seen.

Responsibilities
  • Hydraulic modelling using industry standard software (Flood Modeller, Tuflow, Info Works, HEC‑RAS) for model development, calibration, interpretation, and interrogation of 1D and 1D/2D models.
  • Analyse, manage, and interpret data using GIS software (ArcGIS, Map Info, QGIS) and analytical tools (R and Python).
  • Contribute innovative ideas, challenge the norm, and help deliver better solutions for clients.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver client outcomes.
  • Write, develop and review complex technical reports.
  • Mentor colleagues and peers, supporting personal, skills and career development.
  • Peer review and checking of calculations and technical deliverables.
Qualifications
  • Degree, MEng or MSc in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, Geography, Mathematics or a related discipline.
  • Desire to achieve or already possess chartered status with a professional body (preferably ICE or CIWEM).
  • Experience implementing 1D and 2D modelling techniques for river, urban and coastal flooding applications.
  • Sound knowledge and experience of industry standard software such as Flood Modeller and Tuflow (including Info Works ICM for river, drainage and 2D modelling).
  • Experience in technical assurance of modelling outputs.
  • Demonstrable experience of hydrological calculations.
  • Ability to mentor colleagues and peers, supporting personal, skills and career development, ensuring the continued growth of the team's capability footprint.
