The Role As a Field Service Engineer / Commissioning Engineer, you will carry out site-based commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and technical support on combustion and fired equipment. You will work closely with customers, end users and internal engineering teams to ensure equipment is commissioned, maintained and supported safely, effectively and professionally. The role will involve extensive travel, potentially over 200 days per year, usually for periods of 12 weeks at a time, with some longer trips of up to 6 weeks depending on project requirements.
Key responsibilities will include:
Carrying out on-site commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting and fault analysis Supporting installation supervision and retrofit equipment activities Working on combustion and fired equipment including flare systems, boiler burners, process burners, thermal oxidisers and vapour recovery systems Preparing RAMS, site visit reports, timesheets and client documentation Reading and interpreting P&IDs, electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Supporting site turnarounds, outages and service contracts Delivering technical training to end-user personnel both on site and in classroom settings Identifying opportunities for aftermarket spares, service support and additional customer solutions Building strong relationships with customers and end users Working safely at all times in line with company and customer health and safety procedures About You You will need to be a practical, hands-on Field Service Engineer or Commissioning Engineer with strong technical capability and the flexibility to travel extensively.
This role could suit someone from combustion, oil and gas, petrochemical, power generation, process plant, industrial services, controls, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation or multi-skilled engineering backgrounds. You will ideally have:
Experience as a Field Service Engineer, Commissioning Engineer, Service Engineer, Multi-Skilled Engineer or Service Technician Strong mechanical, electrical, instrumentation or controls knowledge
Experience with PLC control systems, fault finding or industrial control systems Ability to read P&IDs, electrical schematics and mechanical drawings Experience working on process plant, combustion systems, fired equipment, burners, flares, thermal oxidisers, boilers or similar industrial equipment Strong fault-finding and troubleshooting skills Good verbal and written communication skills Strong computer skills for…
