Production Planning Support Engineer

Responsibilities

• Gather and monitor dynamic operational constraints such as demand, asset availability, water quality and abstraction limits
• Support the development and delivery of accurate, actionable production plans across multiple timescales
• Act as a super-user of production planning tools, ensuring data is accurate and up to date
• Monitor KPIs and system performance, identifying potential deviations and risks
• Investigate issues, support root cause analysis and help implement mitigations
• Work closely with operational teams to communicate plans and respond to changing conditions
• Contribute to continuous improvement of planning tools, processes and data quality
• Support maintenance and capital delivery by contributing to operational impact planning
• Build strong relationships across Water Services, Asset Health, Water Resources and wider stakeholders

• Experience in an operational or engineering role, ideally within the water industry
• Strong understanding of water treatment and distribution processes
• Knowledge of hydraulic principles
• Confident using complex software, data tools or models (e.g. hydraulic or planning tools)
• Experience working with operational stakeholders and influencing decisions
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify trends
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• A relevant qualification or equivalent experience in engineering, science or data-related fields (desirable)
