Position: Mechanical Project Manager in PE1

Overview

The Company is a design-led Mechanical and Electrical Building Services Engineering business focused on engineering solutions to meet changing market needs. Established in the 1960s, this market-leading contractor provides integrated M&E project management services delivered by teams of engineers and management staff supported by an extensive and comprehensive supply chain.

The Role

The Mechanical Project Manager will be responsible for the successful delivery of Mechanical Building Services projects with typical values ranging from £1m to £5m across East Anglia, Cambridgeshire and surrounding regions. Projects span sectors including education, healthcare, commercial and industrial developments.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of Mechanical Building Services projects across the full lifecycle: budget management, procurement, programme planning, site delivery, commissioning and final handover.
  • Ensure all projects are delivered on time, within budget, to specification, and in compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Systems included:
    Ventilation, heat recovery, natural ventilation and fume extraction;
    Low Temperature Hot Water (LTHW) including district heating, gas-fired plant and air source heat pumps;
    Chilled water systems;
    Air conditioning;
    Public health services (domestic water and drainage);
    Building Management Systems (BMS).
  • Develop and maintain project trackers, produce regular progress reports, and ensure effective communication with clients, main contractors, consultants, suppliers and internal teams.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure high-quality installations and compliance with relevant industry standards and statutory regulations.
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Project Manager delivering Mechanical Building Services projects.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant industry standards and statutory regulations.
  • Experience across education, healthcare, commercial or industrial sectors is preferred.
