Steel Estimator

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Steel Estimator to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for structural and architectural steelwork projects. Working closely with clients, suppliers, and internal project teams, the Steel Estimator will ensure quotations are completed accurately, on time, and in line with project requirements. The role will also involve occasional nationwide travel to attend client meetings, site visits, and project surveys where required.

• Review tender documents, engineering drawings, and project specifications.
• Produce accurate material take-offs for structural and architectural steelwork.
• Prepare detailed cost estimates, quotations, and tender submissions.
• Calculate material, labour, fabrication, transport, and installation costs.
• Obtain and assess supplier and subcontractor quotations.
• Liaise with clients, architects, engineers, and project managers to clarify project requirements.
• Attend client meetings and carry out site visits and surveys across the UK when required.
• Maintain and update estimating databases, material pricing, and supplier information.
