Hybrid: 2–3 days per week in the office
Level: Senior Civil Engineer / Principal Civil Engineer
An established UK engineering consultancy is looking to appoint an experienced Senior or Principal Civil Engineer to strengthen its development infrastructure team.
This is a technically hands-on position for an engineer with a strong background in UK highways and infrastructure design. You'll take ownership of projects and deliver work independently rather than moving into a predominantly managerial role.
The roleYou'll be responsible for the design and delivery of development infrastructure schemes from initial concept through technical approval and construction, including:
- S38 & S278 highway schemes
- Highway alignments, levels and detailed design
- Drainage and infrastructure design
- Civil 3D & Causeway Flow
- Technical drawings, calculations and supporting documentation
- Liaison with Local Authorities and other approving bodies
- Technical checking and review of designs
- Taking ownership of projects with limited supervision
You'll need significant experience within a UK engineering consultancy and a strong understanding of UK development infrastructure and Local Authority approval processes.
You should be highly proficient in Civil 3D and Causeway Flow, with demonstrable experience delivering S38 and S278 schemes through to technical approval and construction.
Experience with TUFLOW, flood risk or wider drainage modelling would be advantageous but isn't essential.
This position would particularly suit an experienced Senior looking for greater project responsibility or an established Principal who wants to remain technically involved in design and delivery.
Location:Lincoln is the preferred office, although strong candidates based around Nottingham, Peterborough or Manchester will also be considered. Hybrid working: typically 2–3 days per week in the office.
