Financial Accountant - Fixed Term Contract

We are looking for a qualified ACCA or ACA Financial Accountant with a strong audit background to join one of our Peterborough-based clients on a 15-month fixed-term contract
.

This is an excellent interim opportunity to work with a leading local business currently undergoing an exciting period of growth, change, and transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts.
• Managing intercompany reconciliations.
• Leading group reporting and helping to streamline reporting processes.
• Planning and coordinating year-end and interim audits.
• Acting as the primary point of contact for external auditors.
• Supporting internal audit processes and strengthening internal controls.
• Reconciling balance sheet accounts and reviewing journal entries.
• Providing financial insights, variance analysis, and reporting to senior management.
• Assisting with the development and improvement of accounting policies, processes, and systems.
• Mentoring and supporting junior finance team members as required.

About You

• Fully qualified Accountant (ACCA or ACA).
• Proven experience in leading and supporting audits.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge with a proactive, solutions-focused approach.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Hybrid working, 2 days in the office, 3 from home.
• Salary up to £60,000 (depending on experience).
