Personal Tax Assistant Manager – Peterborough | Hybrid Working

We are working with a Top 15 accountancy firm seeking a Personal Tax Assistant Manager to join their growing Private Client Tax team in Peterborough. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional looking to step into, or further develop within, an Assistant Manager role, gaining exposure to complex advisory work and a high-quality client base.

The Role

As a Personal Tax Assistant Manager, you will manage a varied portfolio of private clients, including high-net-worth individuals, families, trusts, and estates, while supporting on a range of advisory projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Managing a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring timely and accurate compliance
  • Preparing, reviewing, and submitting personal tax returns
  • Advising clients on a wide range of personal tax matters
  • Handling trusts and estates work, including IHT reporting (IHT
    100 & IHT
    400)
  • Managing HMRC enquiries and investigations
  • Supporting on advisory projects, including inheritance tax planning, succession planning, and structures
  • Exposure to international and cross-border tax matters
  • Identifying advisory opportunities and supporting business development activity
  • Supporting and mentoring junior team members
  • Assisting senior stakeholders on complex client work
About You

We're looking for an ambitious and forward-thinking personal tax professional who is keen to develop their expertise and progress their career.

  • Be CTA / ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
  • Have experience within personal tax, ideally including private client work
  • Be confident managing client relationships and delivering high-quality service
  • Possess strong technical knowledge across personal tax matters
  • Demonstrate strong organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Be an effective communicator, both written and verbal
  • Show commercial awareness and a proactive approach
  • Have experience supervising or supporting junior team members (desirable)
