Hybrid, occasional travel to Accent offices (Bradford/Peterborough). Salary: £38,194 per annum. Permanent, 35 hours per week, Monday – Friday 9am to 5pm.

About the role

Step into a role where your expertise shapes a better experience for our customers. As a Service Charge Accountant
, you’ll ensure service charge costs are accurate, transparent, and fully compliant with regulations and occupancy agreements, directly contributing to our financial strength and our customers’ trust.

You’ll work with a committed team to deliver sharp forecasting, clear budgeting, and reliable reporting. This role is perfect for someone who understands housing and service charges, keeps up with industry changes, and isn’t afraid to question, challenge, and champion what’s right for our customers.

The spot salary for this post is £38,194 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. If you’re still developing some of the skills or experience, you can start at a salary 5% or 10% below the spot rate, with clear support and progression opportunities to reach the full amount.

About you

The essentials

  • Strong understanding of service charge legislation
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Hands‑on experience preparingauditable service charge accounts
  • Solid knowledge of different housing tenure types
  • A recognisedfinance qualification (or working towards one)

The desirables

  • Social Housing experience
  • Understanding of different scheme structures
  • Ability to read and interpret tenancy agreements/leases.

The successful applicant will be subject to pre‑employment checks, such as DBS and social media screening, before an offer is confirmed.
