Finance Manager – Advertising

As Finance Manager – Advertising you will be an essential part of the Peterborough Management Accounting team, reporting into the Senior Finance Manager (SFM) – Advertising and working closely with the Commercial finance Team in London.

This role will act as the critical operational and strategic bridge between our offshore delivery partner (Genpact) and the onshore business reporting teams, ensuring financial accuracy and driving robust SOX compliance while partnering closely with commercial units.

Following the implementation of S/4 Hana, a core focus of this role will be driving process improvements, simplification and automation across key financial workflows. The position also provides direct deputy support and coverage to the SFM – Advertising.

This is a 12‑month fixed‑term contract.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the main onshore escalation point for Genpact, supporting them with weekly reporting queries and challenging any anomalies.
  • Manage stakeholder communication as the primary contact for the London‑based Commercial teams, handling ad‑hoc queries and acting as a bridge between Genpact processing and business reporting requirements.
  • Own the Solutions Revenue workstream, maintaining the Revenue tracker and ensuring the Revenue Attribution Plan (RAP) sheet processing is up to date.
  • Support month‑end for Print and Digital work streams, ensuring a smooth transition to Genpact and supporting the offshore team where required.
  • Own SOX controls, ensuring tasks are performed accurately, documented correctly and handling audit requests.
  • Champion process improvements, simplification and automation initiatives, targeting Advertising Travel workflows, month‑end reconciliations, TM1 integration and leveraging AI capabilities.
Day to Day
  • Review weekly reporting and flash reports prepared by the offshore team to ensure accuracy before distribution to Commercial teams.
  • Proactively review and analyse aging balance sheet balances, highlighting risks and opportunities to the SFM.
  • Own and maintain the solutions tracker, ensuring all revenue is recorded correctly and recognised in the correct weekly period.
  • Ensure the offshore team processes RAP sheets correctly and provide guidance on complex campaigns.
  • Monitor and maintain the Advertising Inbox, ensuring RAP sheets have been processed and all queries answered in a timely manner.
  • Support the offshore team with month‑end, understand and challenge PLVARS and flag anything material to the SFM.
  • Understand Advertising contras and ensure they are accounted for correctly.
  • Support the offshore team in liaising with Travel and Events commercial teams and vice versa to ensure smooth communication.
  • Understand all Advertising SOX processes to ensure they are followed; challenge and highlight to the Senior Finance Manager if any instances are not being followed.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for Advertising SOX and Audit requests, ensuring supporting documentation is provided by Genpact.
  • Assist the SFM with ad‑hoc queries and provide cover when required.
Qualifications
  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent.
  • Effective and clear communication skills to finance and non‑finance stakeholders.
  • Capability to understand complex revenue campaigns and support the offshore team to account for them correctly.
  • Drive and enthusiasm to develop the role and add value through continuous process improvement.
  • Flexibility and ability to work with ambiguity, taking initiative without guidance.
  • Confidence to challenge and influence stakeholders where appropriate.
Benefits
  • Private medical insurance, including coverage for pre‑existing conditions.
  • Discounted gym memberships, free Class Pass at Home, weekly in‑person/virtual exercise classes.
  • Bikes for Work and Electric Car scheme.
  • Up to 60% discount on Harper Collins books.
  • 18‑week maternity leave on full basic salary and 2‑week paternity leave.

  • Wellbeing benefits such as EAP, physio/massage and counselling.
  • A generous pension scheme with employer contributions up to 5%.
  • A wide range of training available, plus full Linked In Learning access.
