Our Finance team has a large part to play in the success of our business. We are based across several locations but operate as one team, working together to create a positive, productive, and highly efficient finance department within News UK.
Your RoleThis is a Project role supporting the Head of finance with the implementation of our new revenue recognition processes and to improve and drive efficiencies in our accrued/deferred revenue reconciliations.
Day to day You Will- Experience using SAP S/4 HANA with the ability to investigate transactions, analyse financial postings and support the accuracy of revenue recognition.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen revenue recognition controls and accuracy of month end reporting.
- Design and implement a standard reconciliation process for all revenue-related balance sheet accounts.
- Identify historic accounting issues and recommend appropriate corrective action.
- Work with stakeholders across Finance and commercial teams to resolve outstanding items.
- Ensure reconciliations are fully supported and audit ready whilst maintaining strong financial control throughout.
- Assist with month end close activities when required.
- Support month end balance sheet reviews and provide clear commentary on movements.
- Collaborate with the wider finance team to ensure reporting accuracy and process consistency.
- Experience delivering finance process improvements, documenting and implementing financial control.

- Organised and methodical.
- Hold a professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) with 0 to 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).
- Demonstrate a proactive approach to problem‑solving and a strong desire to deliver high-quality results.
- Apply your commercial awareness and technical accounting skills to manage complex revenue recognition and financial controls.
- Utilise advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills, ideally alongside experience with TM1, to build efficient reporting frameworks.
- Manage your own workload independently while maintaining high attention to detail and tenacity.
