Are you passionate about making a real difference in the lives of individuals affected by substance misuse? We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Substance Misuse Team Leader to take a lead role in delivering high-quality recovery services within a prison setting.
As a senior member of our multi‑disciplinary team, you will take a lead role in providing the successful and effective delivery of Substance Misuse Recovery Services in HMP Peterborough, Secured Services. To work as a Team Leader – Substance Misuse within a multi‑disciplinary team in a prison setting, providing care to patients with complex substance misuse problems with co‑occurring mental health issues, from the point of entry into the prison system to re‑entry into the community so that re‑offending is reduced and the health and social functioning of prisoners is improved.
Mainduties of the job
- Lead the delivery of psychosocial substance misuse services in line with national standards and performance indicators.
- Provide high‑quality, person‑centred care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Champion both harm reduction and recovery‑focused approaches.
- Ensure services demonstrate value for money and meet the expectations of commissioners.
- Provide leadership and professional guidance to the staff team, ensuring adherence to policies and the highest standards of care.

Person Specification Knowledge & Experience- Leadership skills and experience.
- Evidence of equivalent training and experience within the provision of structured psychosocial interventions, Motivational Interviewing skills, RCGP1, RQF Level 3 in Substance Misuse.
- Approx 3 years experience in prison or community related substance misuse multi‑disciplinary work.
- Previous experience of working in a secure setting.
- Ability to identify complex issues/situations/information and have the skills to formulate solutions and make recommendations on the best course of action for patients.
- To assess and evaluate risk in relation to substance misuse needs for the psychosocial service and patients.
