Phlebotomist

Responsibilities

Explain the phlebotomy procedure to patients and provide reassurance if needed.

Collect blood samples by venepuncture.

Accurately identify patients and label samples.

Deliver samples to the laboratory within required timescales.

Collate information on patient statistics, audit and patient surveys.

Work primarily during the 08:00-12:30 shift, with flexibility over a 7‑day rota that includes weekends and Bank Holidays, for a total of 18.75 hours per week.

Experience in phlebotomy is preferred but not essential. Applicants must be reliable, responsible, and able to put patients t be able to work at multiple sites within the North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, including Peterborough City Hospital, Hinchingbrooke Hospital, and Stamford Hospital.

Priority will be given to colleagues identified as at risk through the Trust's redeployment process.
