Are you an experienced Dispensing Optician looking for something beyond the traditional high street environment?
We're working with a highly respected specialist independent opticians in Peterborough that is looking for an experienced Dispensing Optician to take ownership of the optical side of the business. This is a genuine opportunity to step into a role where your ideas matter, your experience is valued, and you'll have the autonomy to influence how the practice continues to develop.
This is far more than a dispensing role. You'll become a key member of the management team, overseeing the day-to-day optical operation while supporting a friendly, energetic team in a fast-paced yet relaxed environment.
What's on offer?- Salary between £35,000 and £38,000, with flexibility for the right person
- Monday to Friday only - absolutely no weekends
- 21 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, with flexibility to increase to 25 days

You’ll take responsibility for the smooth running of the optical department, ensuring customers receive an exceptional experience from start to finish.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing and supporting a team of three Optical Assistants
- Reviewing and verifying spectacle orders
- Problem-solving complex optical queries
- Providing expert dispensing and patient advice
- Maintaining excellent customer relationships
- Helping to develop and improve the practice's optical offering
- Working closely with the wider team to ensure efficient day-to-day operations
We're looking for an experienced GOC registered Dispensing Optician who:
- Has previous experience within an independent practice
- Enjoys working in a busy, fast-moving environment
- Is confident leading and supporting a small team
- Has excellent attention to detail
- Enjoys solving problems and making decisions
- Wants a role where they can genuinely make an impact
- Is looking for long-term stability within a specialist independent practice
