We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Antenatal and Postnatal Hospital Maternity Services Ward Manager, to join our innovative senior midwifery team and help shape the future of hospital based maternity services.
AboutThe Role
As the Antenatal and Postnatal Maternity Services Ward Manager, you will provide visible and compassionate leadership within our maternity inpatient services at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust. You will oversee the daily management of the antenatal and postnatal wards, ensuring safe, effective, and person-centred care for women, birthing people, and their families.
This role combines expert clinical practice with strong leadership and team development. You will support and guide staff, foster a positive and collaborative culture, and drive continuous improvement in the quality of care we deliver. Your proactive approach and professional expertise will help ensure high standards are maintained, staff feel supported, and the service continues to evolve to meet the needs of our community.
Take the lead in shaping the future of hospital maternity care - your next opportunity starts here!The post holder is responsible for the effective line management of staff within the area of responsibility and has clinical responsibility for the safe and effective care delivery within their Ward Area.
The post holder will be responsible for safe and effective day to day operational management and clinical leadership of the midwifery services, within the area. Will be expected to lead a team, team build, organise others in their actions and set priorities, objectives and goals within their sphere of responsibility. Will be expected to performance manage both the activity and members of the team.
To maintain a high quality, working environment in which staff can maximise their potential and further develop their skills in clinical practice.
The maternity unit environment is both unpredictable and challenging. The post holder will be faced with many competing demands for attention and will be expected to exercise excellent judgement in dealing clinical needs.
