Medical Laboratory Assistant - Royal Victoria Hospital

Three Medical Laboratory Assistants required to work in the Histopathology department at The Royal Victoria Hospital. The hours of work are on a Rota between 07.30am-5.15pm Monday to Sunday and the rate of pay is £12.75 per hour. This is a temporary role for approx. 3 months with a possibility of extension. You will be responsible for preparation and processing samples and maintaining a clean and efficient working area, a methodical approach to work and have experience in working to tight deadlines.

Main Duties are:

- Booking in, processing, labelling, cataloguing, storage, and retrieval of samples
- Assist in data processing within the laboratories
- Sort and distribute laboratory reports
- Maintain a clean and efficient working area
- Prepare appropriate solutions/reagents where necessary
- Remove and dispose of laboratory waste according to departmental procedures
- Be aware of and adhere to all current Health and Safety regulations What We Need From You - 4 GCSEs (Grade a-c) to include Maths and English
- Science A level (Grades A-C) or equivalent qualification - 1 years laboratory experience What We Will Offer You
