Job Description & How to Apply Below

We’re looking for a Geospatial Lead to join our digital delivery team based at Anglian Water in Peterborough, with hybrid working available.

As Geospatial Lead, you’ll be at the heart of our digital strategy – leading the adoption of GIS and extended reality (XR) technologies to transform how we deliver projects.

This is a unique opportunity to shape the way we use geospatial tools to answer real-world challenges, streamline delivery, and future‑proof our infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and mentor a talented geospatial team (GIS Analysts, VR Analysts, Data Specialists).
  • Develop and implement our GIS & XR strategy, ensuring it integrates across all areas of the Alliance.
  • Champion innovation by identifying emerging technologies and embedding them into day‑to‑day practice.
  • Collaborate with suppliers, technical consultants, and internal teams to maximise value from platforms and tools.
  • Deliver geospatial applications, immersive tools, and data insights that unlock efficiency and enable smarter decision‑making.
  • Act as an ambassador for digital change – promoting our pioneering work both internally and externally at events and conferences.
Qualifications
  • A degree (Geography, Environmental Science, or similar preferred – but all considered).
  • Strong experience in GIS roles (analytics, application development, or both).
  • Hands‑on knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS (ArcGIS Online and Pro).
  • Proven project management experience (Agile knowledge desirable).
  • Experience in managing or supporting business systems and integrating software solutions.
  • Stakeholder management and excellent communication skills.
  • Interest in emerging technologies and their practical application.
  • Experience in leading or mentoring others.
  • Desirable: MSc in Geospatial Sciences, GIS, Digital Engineering, or related.
  • Understanding of CDEs and GIS‑BIM integration.
  • Knowledge of coding (Python, SQL, Arcade).
  • Experience in the water industry or capital delivery projects.
