About the role

At Accent, we’re on an ambitious journey to transform the way we understand, use, and value data and we’re looking for someone to help lead the way.

As our Data Quality and Governance Lead, you’ll be at the heart of this transformation. This isn’t just about managing data; it’s about inspiring a whole organisation to think differently. You’ll champion high‑quality, well‑governed data that empowers better decisions, sharper insights and, ultimately, better services for our customers and communities.

  • Bridge the gap between technical and business worlds – translating complex ideas into clear, actionable steps that everyone can understand.
  • Lead our data owners through a maturing journey – influencing, coaching, and building confidence so they fully understand their responsibilities.
  • Drive improvements in data quality and governance across the organisation – ensuring we remain compliant with relevant regulations and standards.
  • Shape the future of how data works at Accent – leveraging new technology (including our evolving data platform) to modernise how we manage and use data.
  • Support our Data SLT to think holistically about how data can be better across systems, teams, and processes.
  • Champion cultural change – helping move the organisation forward in how we value, share, and learn from our data.
  • Use your strong prioritisation skills – to identify what matters most, focusing energy where it will make the biggest difference.
  • Bring persistence and positivity – keeping momentum even when things get challenging, with exec‑level support behind you.
About you

The essentials:

  • Experience managing data governance frameworks with a clear understanding of how they support organisational success.
  • Strong communication & influencing skills, enabling you to build trust and bring people with you on the journey.
  • The ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels and translate complex, technical information into clear, accessible business language.

A track record of defining and implementing data quality standards that drive consistency and improvement.

Experience in driving business‑wide adoption of data governance, embedding new ways of working and supporting cultural change.

Strong risk identification and management skills, ensuring issues are recognised early and addressed proactively.

Desirables
  • Data protection knowledge
  • Experience in writing data governance policies
  • Experience with Microsoft Purview

The successful applicant will be subject to pre‑employment checks, such as DBS and social media screening, before an offer is confirmed.

Interviews

We want your candidate experience to reflect who we are – a place to grow, a place to thrive, a place to be you.

Stage 1: A Place to Connect

A call with the hiring manager. You’ll learn more about the role and team, and we’ll get to know you – your experience, goals, and what you bring.

Stage 2: A Place to Show Your Strengths

You’ll deliver a related presentation to the panel and have your final behavioural and scenario‑based interview focused on how you apply your knowledge to real‑life situations. You’ll be asked to complete a Congruity Questionnaire in advance.

We aim to make the process clear, supportive, and genuinely valuable – a place where you feel informed and confident at every step.

A place to build a future

We’ve got big ambitions and we’re looking for people who want to grow…
