Employment Lawyer

Employment Lawyer Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting an experienced Employment Lawyer on behalf of one of our long-standing clients. You will provide high-quality legal advice and representation to public sector clients, including local authorities and schools. Duties will include:
Providing specialist, practical and commercially focused advice on contentious and non-contentious employment matters. Managing a varied and complex caseload, including Employment Tribunal claims and wider litigation. Undertaking advocacy and representing clients in tribunals, negotiations and meetings. Advising senior officers, elected members, committees and schools where required. Conducting legal research and providing clear, well-reasoned advice on complex issues. Managing risk, instructing external counsel/solicitors where appropriate and ensuring effective case progression.

Delivering legal briefings and training to clients and contributing to service development.

Person specification:

We are looking for a qualified solicitor, barrister or Chartered Legal Executive with appropriate litigation and advocacy rights with strong experience within employment law.

Experience of working within a local authority or other public sector environment would be advantageous.
