White Label Recruitment are working with a design-led, international product business in Peterborough that is looking to recruit a Supply Chain Planner into its growing supply chain function.

This is a really interesting opportunity for somebody who enjoys getting underneath how a supply chain works.

Rather than simply maintaining existing processes, the business is looking for somebody who is analytical, systems-focused and naturally curious. Someone who wants to understand the relationship between forecasting, purchasing, stock, suppliers, logistics and systems, and who can identify opportunities to make the whole process work better.

You'll be joining a relatively lean team where you can have genuine influence, take ownership of your area and continue to develop as the business grows.

The Role

Working within the Supply Chain team, you will take responsibility across demand planning, purchasing, supplier management, stock control and logistics.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Maintaining and reviewing demand forecasts, analysing discrepancies and identifying trends or changes in demand.
  • Working collaboratively with Sales, Marketing and Product teams around new product launches, promotions, campaigns and discontinuations.
  • Reviewing and optimising replenishment and purchasing parameters to improve stock availability and ordering patterns.
  • Working with planning and ERP systems, including Net Suite and Net Stock.
  • Reviewing suggested purchase orders and ensuring customer and operational requirements are met.
  • Liaising with overseas suppliers to confirm production, shipment dates and lead times.
  • Working closely with international supply partners, including suppliers across the Far East, India and Europe.
  • Managing supplier performance and proactively resolving manufacturing or supply issues.
  • Reviewing MOQs, replenishment cycles and lead times to support a lean and efficient supply chain.
  • Planning purchasing activity to maximise sea freight usage and reduce unnecessary expedited freight.
  • Monitoring ETDs and ETAs and ensuring shipping information remains accurate.
  • Maintaining optimum stock levels while reducing surplus and obsolete inventory.
  • Reviewing daily and weekly KPIs, identifying fulfilment issues and carrying out root-cause analysis.
  • Supporting the production of weekly and monthly supply chain KPI reporting.
About You

We are looking for somebody with a strong mix of analytical ability, commercial awareness and practical supply chain experience.

You will ideally have:
  • At least 2 years' experience within supply chain, planning, purchasing or a similar role.
  • Experience working within a high-volume retail, FMCG, manufacturing or product-led environment.
  • Strong demand planning, forecasting or stock management experience.
  • Previous involvement with new product introductions or product development teams.
  • Experience working with an international supplier base would be highly advantageous.
  • Strong systems capability and confidence working with large data sets.
  • Experience using ERP, MRP or replenishment systems.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills.
  • The ability to identify root causes rather than simply treating the immediate issue.
  • Excellent communication skills and the confidence to work with stakeholders across different departments.

Just as importantly, you'll be somebody who is calm under pressure, highly organised, accurate and naturally driven to improve things.

The business is looking for somebody who wants to develop rather than simply move from role to role. There is a strong track record of people progressing internally, so this could suit somebody looking for a genuine longer-term career move that will have progressive steps available as you and the business continue to grow.

Package
  • Salary of £42,000 - £45,000 depending on experience.
  • 25 days holiday per annum.
  • Hybrid working available after probation.
  • Discretionary annual bonus.
  • Salary exchange pension contribution.
  • Contribution towards gym membership.
  • Employee discount on company products.
  • Company events.
  • Cycle to work scheme.
  • Life insurance.
  • Sick pay.
  • Free parking.
